ISLAM: CONTEMPORARY ISLAM IN ASIA

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo seeks to fill one tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor for July 1, 2013 in the area of Contemporary Islam in Asia, with a preference for a specialization outside of the Middle East. The candidate should have a proven record of excellence in research, graduate supervision, and teaching, commensurate with stage of career. Candidates for the rank of assistant professor must have completed a PhD by July 1, 2013. The position is open to candidates from all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, and candidates are encouraged to identify the most appropriate fit. The successful candidate will teach at least one course in Islam for the Department of Religious Studies. Other courses will be listed or cross-listed to Religious Studies as appropriate.
