The 22nd Annual Graduate Symposium Open Call for Papers
Transcending Borders: Interactions across the Near and Middle East 12 March 2018
Submission Deadline: January 19, 2018
The Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations Graduate Student Association invites paper submissions for the 22nd annual symposium to be held on the 12th of March, 2018. Since 1997, the NMCGSA Symposium has been an important staple in the Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations at University of Toronto. The symposium provides graduate students with an opportunity to share their original research with the scholarly community in a conference-like forum, including individual paper presentations organized into thematic discussion panels. The focus for the 22nd symposium is interactions across temporal, social and spatial borders. Students from various disciplinary backgrounds – spanning religion, history, sociology, literature, archaeology, language, political science, philosophy, medieval studies and so on – are encouraged to participate. Students from University of Toronto departments as well as other universities in Canada and abroad are encouraged to submit and participate.
