Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion Doctoral Research and Travel Scholarships:
The Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion (CCSR) is a consortium of learned societies and institutes including the Association for Canadian Jewish Studies, the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion, the Canadian Society for the Study of Islam and Muslims, the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies, the Canadian Society of Patristic Studies, the Canadian Theological Society, the Société québécoise pour l’étude de la religion, the Société canadienne de théologie and the Association catholique des études bibliques au Canada.
The primary purpose of the CCSR is to support the publication of scholarly research in the field of Religious Studies. Since its inception in 1971, the Corporation has published the journal Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses. It also supports the publication of three book series: Matière à Pensée (Les Presses de l’Université de Montréal), Studies in Christianity and Judaism and Advancing Studies in Religion (McGill-Queen’s University Press).
The CCSR Research and Travel Scholarships:
The CCSR established a scholarship program in 2010 to mark the fortieth anniversary of its incorporation. The purpose of the scholarships is to enable advanced doctoral students and unemployed or underemployed graduates in the field of Religious Studies or Theology to conduct research and/or travel to conduct research that will contribute to their active research project and assist in building their research portfolio (e.g., research tools, necessary digital and print materials, research software, travel to archives, libraries, research centres, fieldwork locations). It is not intended for conference travel, travel to work with a particular professor, or for other networking activities.
The CCSR has allocated a total amount of $7,500 CAN to be distributed among the successful applicants.

La Corporation canadienne des sciences religieuses (CCSR) est un regroupement de plusieurs sociétés savantes du Canada dans divers domaines d’étude des religions : la Société canadienne pour l’étude de la religion, la Société canadienne des études bibliques, l’Association canadienne pour l’étude de l’islam et des musulmans et musulmanes, l’Association canadienne des études patristiques, l’Association d’étudies juives canadiennes, la Société théologique canadienne, la Société québécoise pour l’étude de la religion, la Société canadienne de théologie et l’Association Catholique des Études Bibliques au Canada.
La principale raison d’être de la CCSR est d’encourager la publication en sciences des religions. Depuis sa création en 1970, la Corporation publie Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses, ainsi que trois collections de livres.
Bourses de déplacement et de recherche offertes aux doctorants:
À l’occasion de son quarantième anniversaire, la CCSR a créé un programme de bourses destinées aux doctorants, afin d’encourager la formation de nouvelles générations de chercheurs en sciences des religions. Le programme vise à permettre aux doctorants dont la thèse est déjà bien engagée de procurer des matériaux de recherches ou de voyager, afin de mener les recherches nécessaires à leur travail. (Par exemple, pour acheter des matériaux, consulter des archives, les collections de certaines bibliothèques ou centres de recherche, ainsi que pour travailler sur le terrain.)
La CCSR a décidé qu’un montant total de 7 500 $ CDN serait consacré aux récipiendaires. Chaque candidature pourra faire état de frais de de 2 500$ CDN. On encourage également les étudiants à présenter leur candidature pour des montants moins élevés.
