How do you feel about Canada?
How can we overcome issues like the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic racism, and other challenges?
How can we build on past strengths and nurture hope for the future?
On June 29 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm (EDT), the Association for Canadian Studies and its partners host Stories of Hope: A Celebration of Canada, a very special online event to lift our spirits and help us cope in this time of crisis.
Hear speakers’ inspiring stories of overcoming adversity, and their advice on how all Canadians can do the same. Canadians from all walks of life, including champions from Indigenous, Black and LGBTQ communities will share their perspectives on how they prevailed despite personal and professional struggles. And a special youth panel will inspire you with the change they are already making today!
Stories of Hope: A Celebration of Canada will bring together online over two dozen voices including:
The Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage
The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Former Governor General
Charles Taylor, Professor Emeritus, McGill University and Philosopher
Rosemary Sadlier, Author, Social Justice Advocate, Consultant
Jann Arden, Canadian Musician
Georges Laraque, Sports Commentator and Former NHL Player
& many more!
