CFP — 2013 42nd Annual Conference on South Asia
We are now accepting proposal submissions for the 2013 42nd Annual Conference on South Asia, to be held on October 17-20, 2013 at the Madison Concourse Hotel (1 West Dayton Street, Madison, WI 53703). A forthcoming theme for proposal submissions will be announced by late February/early March, although you may also refer to our FAQ page for general submission guidelines. We also encourage proposal submissions which do not address the announced conference theme.
Proposal Submissions
The deadline for single paper, panel, and roundtable proposal submissions is Monday April 1, 2013. All presenters, chairs, and discussants listed on a proposal will be required to register online by April 1, 2013 in order for the proposal to be considered for review.
Registration
The registration fee is $85 for students and $160 for non-students. The registration deadline for all individuals listed on proposal submissions is April 1, 2013. For general conference attendees, early bird registration will be available through October 1, 2013, after which registration fees will increase.
Accommodations
The UW-Madison Center for South Asia has secured a limited number of group rate accommodations for the conference. Please visit our lodging page for more information, or send us an email if you would like to be added to the roommate board.
Pre-Conferences
Please submit an online request to hold a pre-conference online by April 1, 2013. All pre-conferences will be held on October 17, 2013 (Thursday).
Proposal Calls
If you would like to place a call for pre-conference or panel abstracts, please send us an email with an abstract of your call and contact information. As a courtesy, we will post your call on our website, but interested individuals will need to contact organizers directly.
Association Meetings
You may place an online request to hold your association meeting during the 42nd Annual Conference on South Asia. The deadline for association meeting requests is September 1, 2013.
