Job Summary
The School of Divinity, History and Philosophy looks to appoint a part time (50% of full-time) Teaching Fellow in Religious Studies. The candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of any two of the following: a religion of Asia, Islam, or religion in Ancient Greece and Rome.

As this post is to cover a period of research leave, it will be offered for a period of 12 months.

Each candidate should hold a PhD in Religious Studies or related subjects with expertise in Comparative religion with a focus on any two of the following: a religion of Asia, Islam, or religion in Ancient Greece and Rome. Candidates should be able to deliver courses/tutorials at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in these areas and have the ability to liaise with support staff in the delivery of this teaching. Candidates should also be able to engage with student monitoring, attendance; provide student support; supervise student projects; develop course materials; assist with outreach and student recruitment and advising activities.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale, with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Criteria
#PhD in Religious Studies or related subject
#Ability to teach major religions of the past and present with a focus on the history and doctrine
#Ability to teach on a range of courses with particular emphasis upon a religion of Asia, Islam, or religion in Ancient Greece and Rome.
