Description:

The study of religion at Saint Mary's University is a multidisciplinary inquiry into how religion is defined and the ways that the boundaries of religions are negotiated both historically and in the present context.
Saint Mary’s is one of the most vibrant religious studies departments in the Maritimes with a wide variety of course offerings, and opportunities for service learning and field schools in Italy and Ghana . Our faculty are dedicated public scholars and innovative educators and mentors. Beyond a traditions based approach, our courses negotiate the ways in which religion impacts popular culture, politics, gender, race and sexuality.
