Dear Students,

You are warmly invited to join the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion / Société Canadienne pour l’Étude de la Religion (CSSR/SCÉR), your international community of scholars in religion.

Why join?

Opportunities for Participation:
-Our Annual Meeting, during the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, includes panels, roundtables, the President’s reception, and a CSSR/SCÉR funded professional development luncheon put on specifically for our student membership.
-Members receive, and are encouraged to write and review for, Studies in Religion/ Sciences Religieuses (SR/SR).
-The website forum is a great place to discuss important issues with other students and scholars.

Opportunities for Funding:
-We offer undergraduate and graduate student essay contests with cash prizes.
-Travel grants help students get to the CSSR meeting each year.
-The doctoral student travel grant assists with costs related to dissertation research.
-The CSSR/SCÉR Book Prize recognizes an outstanding first book in Religious Studies.
-Students receive a discounted CSSR/SCÉR membership rate.

-Meet other students at the Graduate Student Luncheon held every year in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting.
