Call for Papers

The 48th Annual Conference on South Asia - to be held October 17-20, 2019 at the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club - invites proposals for Symposia, Panels, RoundTables, Single Papers, and Film Screenings.

We are pleased to announce this year's theme as ARTISTRY; we encourage proposals relating to all countries of South Asia in a wide variety of disciplines.

The online submission portal will open on our website for all submissions on February 1st, 2019. Please note that Panels must have 4 papers.

We were welcoming submission for our a call for papers for the session “The regime of “spirituality” and the culture of well-being in neoliberal societies” that will happen during the 17th European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR) conference “Religion – Continuations and Disruptions” from June 25 to June 29, 2019 in Tartu, Estonia.

Monsters and villains have populated human imagination since time immemorial. Some have been the stuff of myths and legends, involving fantastic tales of heroism and valor; others, the tools societies have used to conceptualize and categorize otherness. While such categorizations are invariably fluid and subject to interpretation, they have nevertheless come to embody concerns, insecurities about the self, and fears of the unknown that cross historical and cultural contexts.
