As the spring term comes to an end, we wanted to reach out to you about the Linda F. Dietz Prize. While it is only open to Canadian graduate students, we welcome submissions on all areas of history. Not every piece makes it to the peer review process, yet this is an excellent opportunity for graduate authors to become familiar with the rigours of publication.

CCSR Doctoral Travel Scholarship — deadline extended to December 15th, 2016

The Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion has a doctoral travel grant made available annually to students in Departments of Theology or Religious Studies across Canada and also to students studying religion at the doctoral level in related Departments such as History, Women’s Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Political Science, etc.

We have extended this year’s application deadline to December 15, 2016.

Ruth Wynn Woodward Postdoctoral Fellowship in GSWS — Simon Frasier University

The Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies (GSWS) at Simon Fraser University (Burnaby Campus) is seeking outstanding candidates for the Ruth Wynn Woodward Postdoctoral Fellowship in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, funded by the Ruth Wynn Woodward Endowment. The RWW Endowment funds an outreach-based fellowship that bridges academic and non-academic communities.

Full-time post-doctoral fellow and lecturer — University of Virginia's Religious Studies Department

The University of Virginia's Religious Studies Department invites applications for one full-time postdoctoral fellow and lecturer for the academic year beginning July 25, 2017. Applications are welcome from any whose work bears on American religious history, thought or practice. Preference will be given to those applicants with interest in marginal or newer religious movements, especially Mormonism. Expertise in Mormonism is not required. Rather, the Fellowship is designed to provide training for persons who wish to add such expertise to an existing disciplinary specialty.

CSSR Call for Student Ambassadors

The Canadian Society for the Study of Religion (CSSR) is currently looking for students interested in serving as Student Ambassadors for our organization. These students would act as local liaisons between their home institution and the CSSR, ensuring that their student body is kept up-to-date on all academic, funding, and professionalization opportunities offered throughout the year through the CSSR.
