Study of Religion as an Analytic Discipline (SORAAAD) workshop, San Diego, Nov 2014
The full program for the 2014 SORAAAD workshop “Comparison and the Analytical Study of Religion” is now available. John Kloppenborg, David Frankfurter, Margo Kitts, Jamel Velji, Paul C. Johnson, Kathryn Lofton, Jens Kreinath, and Michael Houseman will talk about the use of comparison to re-conceptualize the study of religion in Late Antiquity; Black Atlantic Religions; Religion and Violence;and Religion and Ritual.
The workshop will take place Friday afternoon, November 21st, 2014 12:45 p.m. in San Diego. The location, a few minutes walk from the San Diego Convention Center, will be announced to those registered.
Registration is free, thanks to sponsorship by the University of Regina Department of Religion. The participation limit is 70.

The Suggested Readings will, along with the presentations, serve as the baseline for discussion.
