New Research Project — Religion, Gender and Sexuality among Youth in Canada

Dear Colleague:
We are engaged in an academic research project entitled: Religion, Gender and Sexuality among Youth in Canada. Part of the project is a survey that seeks to collect information about the attitudes and practices of young adults (aged 18 to 25) living in Canada, regarding their religious and sexual/gender identities.
We are very pleased to announce that our web-based survey on Religion, Gender and Sexuality among Youth in Canada is now live in both English and French.
We are interested in hearing from all young adults who wish to discuss their attitudes regarding religious and sexual/gender identities. Because some questions focus directly on the religious beliefs/practices of the survey respondents, those who do not consider themselves religious may not find these specific questions relevant.
The information we collect will be analyzed and presented to a range of outlets (e.g. academics, organizations/groups for, and working with, religious young people, policy makers, and other interested parties).
Participants do not have to answer all survey questions to take part in the survey. All the information collected will be kept confidential all identifiable information will be removed or changed in the research findings.
The study has been approved by the Research Ethics Boards at Queen’s University and the University of Ottawa. Any ethical concerns about the study may be directed to the Chair of the General Research Ethics Board at Queen’s University (chair.GREB@queensu.ca or 613-533-6081).

If you know of young adults between the ages of 18-25 who might be interested in this survey, please forward the url to them or to anyone who might forward it on to potential participants.
We’re also attaching an e-poster in English and French and we would appreciate it if you have somewhere you could post it and send it on to others. We’re also attaching a couple of power point slides about the project that could be integrated into your class powerpoints.
