Socrel 2014: ‘Religion and Crisis’, 2-4 July 2014, University of Sussex

Early bird registration is now available for this conference. Register by 30 May in order to take advantage of this discount: http://portal.britsoc.co.uk/public/event/eventBooking.aspx?id=EVT10323

Hosted by Drs Paul-François Tremlett and Marion Bowman of the Open University, the conference features keynotes from Professor Sophie Watson (Sociology, Open University), Professor Manuel Vásquez (Religion, University of Florida), Professor John Wolffe (Religious History, Open University) and sessions including ‘Gender Diversity in Religious Studies’, ‘Religion and Ecology’, ‘Secularism and Post-Secularism’, and ‘War, Peace and Memory’.

Registration is from noon on Tuesday 4 July with the first session starting at 2pm and we will finish by 4pm on Friday 4 July. The draft programme will be distributed shortly.
Following the early bird deadline, all registrations will incur an additional £50 charge. Also, please note, campus accommodation is limited and available on a first come-first served basis. Brighton is a very popular summer seaside resort and other hotels and B&Bs will fill quickly.

Aspiring Academics, the postgraduate/early career workshop is from lunchtime on Tuesday 1st until lunchtime Wednesday 2nd. It is a great opportunity to learn from each other as well as more experienced scholars, and Socrel PG/EC Liaison Jo McKenzie will distribute more details next week.

Please email any enquiries to: events@britsoc.org.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you in July!
