Call for book proposals — “Advancing Studies in Religion” (CCSR Book Series)
Advancing Studies in Religion
A book series sponsored by the Canadian Corporation for Studies in Religion, published by McGill-Queen’s University Press
Series editor: Christine Mitchell, St. Andrew’s College, University of Saskatchewan
Series description: Advancing Studies in Religion catalyzes and provokes original research in the study of religion with a critical edge. The series advances the study of religion in method and theory, textual interpretation, theological studies and the understanding of lived religious experience. Rooted in the long and diverse traditions of the study of religion in Canada, the series demonstrates awareness of the complex genealogy of religion as a category and a discipline. ASR welcomes submissions from authors researching religion in varied contexts and with diverse methodologies.
The CCSR has moved its English-language book publishing programme to McGill-Queen’s University Press. A French-language series is housed at Les Presses de l’Université de Montréal. Members of the CCSR’s constituent societies—Canadian Society of Biblical Studies, Canadian Society for the Study of Religion, Canadian Society of Patristic Studies, Canadian Theological Society, Société canadienne de théologie, Société quebecoise pour l’étude de la religion—are invited to submit English-language proposals for inclusion in the series ASR. The first volume in the series has just been published, and two more are forthcoming.
The MQUP book proposal guidelines can be found at: http://www.mqup.ca/submitting-a-proposal-pages-164.php. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed and subject to the approval of the publications review committee of MQUP.
