The University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus is located in Camrose, Alberta, approximately 90 kilometers southeast of Edmonton. Home to just over 1000 students, Augustana offers courses in over thirty areas of study across several bachelor’s degree programs (https://www.ualberta.ca/augustana). The Chester Ronning Centre was established at Augustana in 2004. Its primary mandate is to facilitate interdisciplinary research, critical teaching, ethical reflection, and public programming on a range of issues in which religious communities, practices, and ideas are directly implicated, or on which thoughtful religious perspectives might be brought to bear. The Centre’s International Fellows program, a new initiative, aims to convene public intellectuals that have substantial knowledge of both religious and civil perspectives on current issues
