The University and its Faculty of Canon Law are rooted in the Catholic tradition and governed by the statutes of Veritatis gaudium the apostolic constitution of Pope Francis on ecclesiastical universities and faculties, and the Statutes of Saint Paul University.

The Faculty of Canon Law of Saint Paul University invites applications for a full-time appointment at the rank of assistant professor (tenure track) or higher rank (depending on qualifications).

Qualifications:
-Doctorate in canon law from a pontifical ecclesiastical faculty
-Proficiency in both official languages (English and French), or willingness and capacity to become bilingual before receiving tenure

Functions:
-Teach courses full-time in the Faculty of Canon Law, including preparation of courses and the marking of examinations
-Being available to students
-Canonical research required for continual updating of teaching and publication of research in peer reviewed journals
-Supervise and oversee graduate students’ research
-Participate in administrative functions/committees of Saint Paul University, the Faculty of Canon Law, the University of Ottawa
-Serve as a member of the Faculty Council
-Habitual presence on the campus of Saint Paul University
-Active engagement at Saint Paul University

Salary: Salary and possibility of promotion according to the collective agreement between Saint Paul University and the Professors’ Association of Saint Paul University.

Starting date: July 1, 2021
