CSSR Call for Student Ambassadors 2021-2022

The Canadian Society for the Study of Religion (CSSR) is currently looking for students interested in serving as Student Ambassadors for our organization. These students would act as local liaisons between their home institution and the CSSR, ensuring that their student body is kept up-to-date on all academic, funding, and professionalization opportunities offered throughout the year through the CSSR.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Receive emails from the graduate student-at-large with calls for papers, funding opportunies, job pos ngs, paper competitionsons etc. and ensure that the student body in your department and other relevant networks receive the informaion (via your administrative assistants or through the appropriate listservs).

WHY THIS POSITION MAY BE OF INTEREST
The CSSR is one of the largest academic Canadian societies oriented to the scholarly study of religion. In addition to our annual meeting held at Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences that hosts panels, round tables, and professionalization luncheons, the CSSR offers undergraduate and graduate funding opportuni es related to conference travel and paper presentations, as well as the opportunity to write/review for the scholarly journal Studies in Religion/Sciences Religieuses.

The role of Student Ambassador is an excellent way to get involved with the organization with a minimal time commitment, and can be a great stepping stone to running for positions on our executive such as graduate student member-at-large.
