CALL FOR PAPERS
for the topical issue of Open Theology journal

BIBLE TRANSLATION

Open Theology (http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/opth) invites submissions for the topical issue ‘Bible Translation’, under the general editorship of Dr. Mark L. Strauss (Bethel Seminary San Diego).

The vast majority of Bible readers access the Scriptures in a translation, rather than in the original languages (Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic). Yet issues related to the theory and practice of translation are not widely discussed in biblical studies circles. We invite linguists, international Bible translators, and biblical scholars to discuss the history, theory, practice, and recent developments in the field of Bible translation.
HOW TO SUBMIT

Submissions are due by March 15, 2016. To submit an article for the special issue of Open Theology, please use the on-line submission system http://www.editorialmanager.com/openth/ choosing as article type: ‘Special Issue Article: ‘Bible Translation’.

All contributions will undergo a critical review before being accepted for publication.

Further questions about the thematic issue can be sent to Mark L. Strauss at m-strauss@bethel.edu. In case of technical questions please contact Managing Editor of the journal Dr. Katarzyna Tempczyk at katarzyna.tempczyk@degruyteropen.com.

Authors publishing in the special issue will benefit from:

· – transparent, comprehensive and fast peer review
· – efficient route to fast-track publication and full advantage of De Gruyter Open’s e-technology,
· – no publication fees,
· – free language assistance for authors from non-English speaking regions.

Please feel free to forward this invitation to any interested colleagues or associates.
