“Multiple Religious Belonging” — Topical issue of Open Theology journal
CALL FOR PAPERS
for the topical issue of Open Theology journal
‘MULTIPLE RELIGIOUS BELONGING’
Open Theology (http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/opth) invites submissions for the topical issue ‘Multiple Religious Belonging,’ under the general editorship of Prof. Manuela Kalsky and Prof. André van der Braak (Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam).
This issue will address a relatively new and rapidly growing interdisciplinary field of research that approaches hybrid religiosity through the lens of ‘multiple religious belonging’. Authors in the field vary widely in their conceptions of ‘religion’, ‘belonging’, and ‘multiplicity’, and, as a consequence, in their perception of the possibility of multiple religious belonging as well as its qualitative and quantitative importance. Contributors to this issue are invited to clarify and advance this discussion by analyzing existing controversies, and proposing useful interpretations of multiple religious belonging. In addition to the theoretical, empirical approaches to the exploration of the nature and extent of multiple religious belonging are invited.
