A Message about the "Religion, Gender and Sexuality among Youth in Canada" online survey

Religion, Gender and Sexuality among Youth in Canada (Pamela Dickey Young and Heather Shipley): Our online survey is now closed, thanks to all the CSSR members who circulated our survey links and to the CSSR for posting information about the survey through the newsletter. We are also grateful to all of our survey participants for their time. We will be moving to the interview phase of the project in fall 2013!

Pr. Leona Anderson appointed honorary title of Professor Emerita of Religious Studies by Faculty of Arts at University of Regina

Prof. Leona Anderson, retired as of June 30, 2013, has been appointed by the Faculty of Arts at University of Regina to the honorary title of Professor Emerita of Religious Studies. Professor Anderson’s contributions, both to the field of Religious Studies in general, and especially to our department specifically, have been enormous.

Two news items from the Religious Studies Department at Saint Mary's University - June 27, 2013

The Religious Studies Department [at Saint Mary's University] has two pieces of news for the CSSR:

First, the Department is welcoming Syed Adnan Hussain as a new full-time faculty member in the Department. He will be joining the Department on July 1, 2013. He is filling the new post on Islamic Studies.

In his latest column, William Pannapacker tackles the issue of job-placement rates in doctoral programs and decries the lack of solid data.

“Advisers and prospective students need something more than a scattered helping of infrequently updated best-case scenarios,” he writes. “We need externally verified, reasonably comprehensive data about individual programs and maybe even individual advisers.”
