Contexts and Consequences: New Studies in Religion and History

Contexts and Consequences is a series focused on edited and peer-reviewed shorter monographs, works designed to fit within the space that lies between the “too-long-for-a-journal article” and “too-short-for-a-traditional monograph” format. The series is committed to promoting shorter forms of scholarship that are as intellectually viable and important to the dissemination of knowledge as more traditional formats.
We are seeking submissions from both newly minted and established scholars who do not want to be restricted by either generally-accepted lengths of journal articles or standard 100,00 word + monographs. We are particularly interested in submissions that involve relatively unknown yet original sources, as well as short edited collections (4 to 6 essays) that examine particular topics in a contrapuntal manner.

Research areas that are relevant to the series include, but are not limited to, the role of religion in:
· Politics
· Intellectual Life
· The Arts
· Social Movements

All projects will be subjected to rigorous peer review, with final works issued in both print and digital formats. Proposals will be reviewed by the series editors and should be no more than five pages in length. Please include:

· A three page description of your project, including a statement of your thesis and a narrative explication of the historical/geographical context of your study
· A one page selected bibliography
· A one page table of contents

Please submit one copy of your proposal to each of the following:
